Small Handbuilt Watercolor Palette

This small ceramic palette was developed in response to the larger formats commonly used for watercolor mixing. Its compact proportions keep the mixing surface contained and make the palette suitable for small amounts of pigment, short painting sessions, and limited working spaces.

Each palette was shaped individually by hand from white porcelain and finished with a transparent glaze. The five pieces follow the same general form and decorative arrangement, but slight differences in length, width, contour, and surface division remain visible across the group.

Rather than functioning as exact copies, the five palettes form a small batch of related objects shaped through the same process.

Studio Note

Repeating the same object by hand makes variation easier to observe. The shared design establishes continuity across the group, while differences in proportion and contour preserve the identity of each palette.

Ceramic Characteristics

Each palette is individually formed, glazed, and fired. Subtle differences in dimensions, contour, surface division, glaze coverage, and overall proportion naturally occur across the five-piece batch.

Measurements are approximate and may vary slightly between individual pieces. Minor irregularities and visible traces of the forming, glazing, and firing processes form part of the finished work and are not considered manufacturing defects.

Care Information

Rinse after use with clean water and wipe with a soft cloth. Mild detergent may be used when necessary. Avoid abrasive cleaners, impact, and sudden temperature changes.
