Yellow Flow Glaze Lidded Box

This handbuilt ceramic box has a small rectangular form with softened edges and a fitted lid. A text stamp was pressed into the interior of the lid, recording the work as part of the studio’s production in October 2025.

Warm-toned flow glazes were combined directly on the surface without a predetermined final arrangement. During firing, the colors moved into one another, producing irregular transitions between yellow and surrounding warm tones. The finished composition was determined by glaze movement rather than a controlled or repeatable pattern.

Made as an experimental work, only one piece was produced.

Studio Note

A thin pale green pattern was applied over the flow glaze to test how the separate layers would merge during firing. The pattern settled into the surrounding glaze without creating a noticeably raised edge, leaving the finished surface unexpectedly level.

Ceramic Characteristics

Each work is individually formed, glazed, and fired. Variations in proportion, lid alignment, glaze movement, color distribution, surface texture, and tonal depth are natural characteristics of studio ceramics.

Measurements are approximate. Minor irregularities and visible traces of forming, stamping, glazing, and firing form part of the finished work and are not considered manufacturing defects.

Care Information

Hand washing is recommended. Use a soft sponge and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners, sudden temperature changes, direct flame, and impact around the lid and edges.
